Huawei’s Rumoured Google Nexus 6 Will Come With USB-C

USB-C is fast becoming the new standard for data transfers and power. We’ve already seen it make a debut on the new OnePlus Two, the Nokia N1 tablet, the new ChromeBook Pixel and the new MacBook, but it is not bound to stop there. A new report by Onleaks suggests that the rumoured Huawei Nexus 6 will also have a USB Type C port. Google, this year, is planning two Nexus smartphones — a new Nexus 6 and also a smaller Nexus 5.

Besides the presence of USB Type C, the phone is expected to be quite slim and will measure between 6.6mm and 8.5mm. The design of the device is said to resemble that of the HTC One (M9). The phone is also expected to have a fingerprint scanner on the back.

Google’s 2014 Nexus 6 was deemed to be very large with its 5.96-inch display. Reports suggest, that the 2015 model, which is being made by Chinese vendor Huawei for the first time, will have a smaller 5.7-inch screen. The presence of the fingerprint scanner on the back could also help keep the footprint of the device compact as it will not add to the vertical length of the device. As Google’s Nexus devices feature software buttons embedded in the screen, there’s isn’t a dedicated home button which can incorporate a fingerprint scanner.

The phone is said to be the world’s first global LTE smartphone, with Qualcomm’s RF60 chip enabling this. It is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC, which is expected to be a big leap over the current generation Snapdragon 810 SoC. Considering, Qualcomm’s new chip is only expected at the fag end of the year, the device shouldn’t be announced much earlier.

The phone is also expected to have a massive battery, wireless charging and a 21-megapixel camera on the back. The phone, in all likelihood will be a showcase device for Android M. Google released a developer preview of Android M at Google I/O back in June.

Android M per se is a refinement of the new Material Design language that was introduced last year with Android Lollipop. Its key marquee feature is Google Now on tap, which adds dynamic contextual learning and Google Now like assistive capabilities to any app.

demonstrate that it is safe and effective
for long-term use, as no studies have efficiently looked at garcinia cambogia use for longer than 12 weeks.
