Last Week To Get New Apple battery for Rs 2,000, Dont Miss !!!
If you have an old iPhone model with poor battery life, it would be wise to get its battery replaced this week. Last December, Apple announced a dramatic price drop for battery replacement for old iPhone models around the world including India.
The offer lasts until December 31, 2018, which means there is just a couple of days left for consumers to replace their iPhone battery for as low as Rs 2,000. Previously, customers would have to pay around Rs 6,500 to replace the battery.
Apple announced the battery replacement program in December 2017 soon after the company admitted that it was slowing down the performance of older iPhone models. Following its admission, Apple faced severe backlash not only for intentionally throttling performance but for forcing iPhone users to replace the battery of their device when it was not really necessary.
To make things right, Apple announced a price drop for the cost of replacing out-of-warranty battery replacement from $79 to $29 (approx Rs 1,800). The offer is valid for anyone with an iPhone SE, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X. It should be noted that the program does not include the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max models.
Once the iPhone battery replacement discount ends on December 31, the price will likely go back to approximately Rs 6,500 in India. In the US, replacing the battery of an iPhone 6 or later model will cost $49 (approx Rs 3,500), while the price for replacing the battery of an iPhone X model will cost $69 (approx Rs 4,800) after December 31.
So, consumers looking to replace the battery of their ageing iPhone may want to head to the nearest Apple retail store or Apple Authorised Service Provider. You can find the nearest service Apple service centre by heading to the Apple website.
