Lenovo Vibe S1 With Two Selfie Cameras Launched At Rs.15,999
Chinese company Lenovo on Monday launched its new Vibe S1 smartphone in India at a price of Rs.15,999. The phone will be available for buy from Amazon India. The Vibe S1 which was first unveiled at the IFA event in Germany earlier this year was launched at an official press event in New Delhi.
The USP of the Vibe S1 is its focus on selfie photography. The phone comes with two front cameras, an 8-megapixel primary and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. While the primary camera clicks your usual selfies, the secondary cam helps to capture the depth of field. This means you can refocus your subject after clicking it. This would allow users to create selfies with blurred (bokeh) background.
It can be recalled that such dual cameras have been quite common on the rear of phones brought by HTC and Xolo. This is for the first time that a mainstream company is offering a phone with two cameras on the front. The Vibe S1 sports a 13-megapixel camera with phase detection autofocus and dualLED (dual-tone) flash on the rear.
Let’s take a look at the other specifications of the Vibe S1. The phone comes with a 5-inch fullHD IPS display with a 1080×1920 pixels resolution and 441 ppi pixel density. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The Vibe S1 is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6752 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is expandable by up to 128GB via microSD card. The 4G LTE capable phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Vibe UI on top.
The Vibe S1 is backed by a non-removable 2,500 mAh battery.
Notably, this is Lenovo’s second photography centric smartphone this year. The company recently launched the Vibe Shot , a phone that looks like a point-and-shoot camera and focuses almost exclusively on bringing photography elements to a smartphone. It features a unique physical button that lets users automatically switch between auto and pro modes depending on situation. The phone also comes with a physical camera shutter button.
