Microsoft Updates One Note For Android, iOS With Universal Interface
Microsoft’s One Note is an impressive note taking application for the Windows platform which allows seamless transfer of notes. The Redmond giant has also started updating the application on other platforms. The company will be updating the application on Android and iOS with a more universal interface, which means that the app will look pretty similar on mostly all form factors.
According to a report from Engadget, the company had updated the iPad application with the new features but the iPad owners will have to download the application again to use the new universal interface. Microsoft will not have to recode the application for different form factors and use the features in the same fashion, for instance the user can access the notes from the notification shade on the iPad as well as on the iPhone. Apart from the new features the update will also bring in a few major bug fixes which includes a fix for the whiteboard capturing mode.
The Android version of the update will introduce some major bug fixes and we can also expect the Android Wear update in the coming weeks, which is already in the testing phase in the beta community.
Microsoft is emphasising on providing the latest updates on every platform possible. Recently, there were reports suggesting that the Redmond giant might be looking forward to shut the mobile phone business and only focus on software services which has always been their strong suit. The company has not confirmed any move officially and will probably not take such a major step before trying out the new Windows 10 Mobile operating system, which will be a dramatic overhaul from the current Windows 8.1.
