Microsoft’s New Technology Hyperlapse Lets Anyone Create Timelapse Videos Like A Pro On Android & Windows Phone
Microsoft has launched a Hyperlapse app on Android and Windows Phone, which it claims is the result of over 20 years of R&D. The app lets users create professional quality timelapse videos without the shakes and stutters that usually happen when you try stitching individual frames.
The significant difference is that with the Microsoft Hyperlapse app, you can process a time-lapse of even old videos, and don’t need to necessarily shoot in-app unlike Instagram’s Hyperlapse.
The Hyperlapse app is currently available for Windows Phone and is in beta for Android smartphones. There is no word about an iOS release. To get the Android app you will have join their Google + community, and become a tester to try the app.
Additionally, the Android app currently works only for Samsung Galaxy S5, S6, S6 Edge, Note 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, HTC One M8, One M9 and Sony Xperia Z3. If you have any of the above phones, you will need to become a tester, and then download the Android version of Hyperlapse from the Google Play Store to try out the beta version.
Apart from the app for smartphones, Microsoft has also unveiled Hyperlapse Pro app for Windows on desktop. With the Pro version, you can control speed and resolution result, while also enabling advanced settings for footage shot via a GoPro camera.
The company is rolling out a free trial version of the Pro app today, and will make it a paid service targeting high-end users in the future. The free trial-version is available on the company’s Hyperlapse site.
