OnePlus CEO Reveals About OnePlus TV Not OnePlus Mobile

OnePlus is known for its excellent and all-rounder smartphones across the globe. In fact in India, within just a few years OnePlus has become a no 1 premium phone. Looks like OnePlus doesn’t just want to be limited to just smartphones. Hence, OnePlus seems to be working on a smart TV. The company hasn’t revealed the name of the upcoming OnePlus TV but rumours are calling it as simple as OnePlus TV. The company hasn’t talked about OnePlus TV much but in interaction with students at the European Institute of Design Pete Lau, OnePlus CEO has revealed some new details about the upcoming OnePlus TV.

Lau said that OnePlus wants to expand its business to other sectors as well. Hence, the company decided to bring its first ever smart TV. Lau didn’t talk about the release date of the OnePlus TV but rumours suggest that it may happen any time later this year or maybe next year. In the interaction with the students, Lau said that the OnePlus TV will have a smart display.

He further reveals that remote controls are now outdated and instead he believes AI (artificial intelligence) can be used to learn the viewer’s habits and show relevant information according to their taste or what they watch. Does this mean that OnePlus TV may have something similar to Google Now for TV Lau further informed that in future OnePlus wants to enter the automotive business too? He informed that OnePlus wants to work on electronics and now at the whole car as it is too complex. Lau also hinted that OnePlus may utilize all possibilities enabled by 5G like enhancing a virtual assistant.

In addition to automotive OnePlus CEO also says that the company also wants to build products for the office something like the cloud-connected era with the help of advancements in 5G and AI. Rumours suggest that in-car and office gadgets will likely be developed over the next few years.

In addition to all these sectors, Pete Lau said that like other smartphone manufacturers don’t want to work on a foldable phone any time soon. Lau said foldable phones are not ready for prime time as of yet.

In 2019 OnePlus is expected to launch three phones instead of two. The phones may be the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlua 5G phone. Rumours suggest that OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro may launch in a few months. The company is yet to confirm the launch date of the phones. Rumours suggest that the upcoming OnePlus phones will come with pop-up selfie camera, triple rear cameras, Snapdragon 855 chipset and all screen display.
