Samsung Galaxy S7 To Come In Two Different Sizes
According to the report , folks back at Samsung are working on two different models of the Galaxy S7: the regular Galaxy S7 and another Edge variant.
Codenamed HERO1 and HERO2, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will reportedly come with 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch screens. The report mentions that while the 5.2-inch variant will be flat (or the regular Galaxy S7), the 5.5-inch variant will have the characteristic ‘edge’ display (indicating that it will be the Galaxy S7 Edge).
This would be the first time that Samsung would launch its Galaxy S flagship phones in two different sizes, should the report come out to be true. The Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge came with the same screen sizes, that is, 5.1-inches.
This would also mean that the next generation Galaxy S phone would be 0.1-inches bigger than its predecessor the Galaxy S6.
The approach would be quite similar to what Apple incorporates in case of its own flagship iPhones giving buyers the option of a regular iPhone and a larger iPhone Plus. It is already rumoured that Samsung maybe looking to add a pressure sensitive display technology to the Galaxy S7, something on the lines of Apple’s 3D Touch.
The report adds that Samsung may start mass production of the Galaxy S7 as early as February 2016. It is expected that the Galaxy S7 will be launched around the same time frame as well.
