Walmart Plans 3 hour delivery to Beat Amazon Prime
Walmart after its acquisition of Jet.com in early 2016 has now planned on renovating the e-commerce website to bring it up against Amazon Prime.
Unlike Walmart.com, Jet.com was well reputed for gaining attention from younger crowd living in New York. But now Walmart has decided to renovate the website, make it more improved and upgraded to make it stand firm on e-commerce field again.
The renovated Jet.com will suggest products to its users based on their previous purchase and also on what products are widely available for the for the specific zip code.
With an intention to make the competition really work between them and Amazon Prime, the company has promised of fast delivery to its New York online orders. The same-day delivery will be enabled to New Yorkers who do a local order and craft beer and soon groceries delivers will be done within three-hour to its New York-based residents.
This promised three-hour delivery will be done by Parcel, another logistics company acquired by Walmart last year. Jets distribution centre will be located in the Bronx, which will be rolling out later this year.
Jet has also planned of becoming an authorized seller for Nike and Converse products beginning from October. Previously Nike products have already been on Jet.com but only through third parties. The company said hundreds of products will go live and even workout accessories like appeal, sneakers will be available on the site. And earlier this year, Jet became an authorized seller for Apple.
On considering about Amazons Alexa for voice command, Jet.com thought it will be fine to simply join in hands with Apples Siri for iOS devices. That is, iOS users can simply give a voice command to Siri to build lists.
