WhatsApp Ads Coming Soon Only Through The Status
WhatsApp owned by Facebook, is one of the world most popular messenger app, having more than 1.2 billion monthly active users as of January 2017.
On a recent interview when David Fischer, Facebook’s vice president of business and marketing partnerships was questioned about advertisements on WhatsApp, he replied saying In time, well figure it out, and refused to elaborate further on the topic.
Co-founders of WhatsApp Jan Koum and Brian Acton were given an assurance that ads will not appear in WhatsApp after being acquired by Facebook. But Koum departure from Facebook was an indication that from the ads would probably arrive on WhatsApp platform.
WhatsApp spokes-person Mark Zuckerberg has confirmed that the chat app is planning to start to do advertisement by 2019. Advertisements on WhatsApp are planned to be displayed on the Status tab, which now shows image or video posted by us for a time period of 24 hours, and eventually disappears.
In the not so far future, WhatsApp will start displaying advertisements on their status tab just like our video and images, a plus for us users will be that it can be simply ignored by not touching the Status tab or click on the Mute option and ignore it. Even though all these days WhatsApp is given free to its users, WhatsApp is also looking into ways to monetize itself. We are not sure when WhatsApp will start doing advertisements, it can be really soon or in the not so far future, but now its for sure that they will do ads on their chat app.
