WhatsApp New Business API Will Charge For Messages Sent After A Day
WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned platform has recently put forward many ideas to make itself monetize. Before we got over the shock of WhatsApp doing advertisements on their status tab, WhatsApp has now come up with a new idea of charging for slow replies on a WhatsApp Business Account. This Business Account was launched in January by this year and gave free service this now, but has decided to end it.
Difference between WhatsApp Business Account and normal WhatsApp Account:
Looking into what makes WhatsApp Business Account differ from normal WhatsApp Account. WhatsApp Business Account is given a special title as Business Account, provides Labeling feature that allows companies to organize their contact or chats so that they can be easily found, Automated Message that welcomes outside user and finally Message Strategies that allows the organization to access important metrics.
When a reply is sent to a customer its free of charge for the next 24 hours from the sent time, but later replies are charged with a fixed rate.
Rates for confirmed delivery have been announced as 0.5 cents to 9 cents per notification depending on company location.
WhatsApp Business Account for iOS users:
WhatsApp Business Account is currently available only for Andriod OS, but we can look forward to releasing on iOS for Apple users.
Will all companies be charged?
No, all companies that have WhatsApp Business account need not pay. This fixed rate of charging on WhatsApp Business Account is currently being implemented only for big enterprises.
After the acquisition of WhatsApp by facebook , it has tripled in size under the management. And facebook is still looking into ways to monetize.
