Xiaomi Mi 5X Pre-Registration First Sale Crosses 2 Lakh Mark
Xiaomi is expected to launch a new smartphone called the Mi 5X on July 26. The Chinese smartphone maker on Wednesday took to Weibo, a Chinese micro blogging site to confirm this, but the launch date is only for China.
Reports are that Mi 5X has already been available for pre-registration for its first flash sale starting Wednesday, and within just 24 hours the smartphone registration crossed the 200,000 (as per the latest update) mark. Again, only in China.
Reports are that Xiaomi’s Mi 5X has received 209,900 pre-registrations in 24 hours, to be exact. In 12 hours the Xiaomi managed to receive 139,359 pre-registrations. The report further notes that the pre-registration is for the first flash sale of the phone.
This means that the with this Mi smartphone, the Chinese smartphone maker is expected to try its online flash sale strategy like it does for its Redmi series phones Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4 or the Redmi 4A in India.
The report further reveals that some lucky consumers pre-registering for the first flash sale of the Mi 5X may also have the chance to win smartwatch or the Mi 5X itself.
Ahead of the launch, the upcoming smartphone by Xiaomi has been subjected to several leaks and rumours already. Some rumours hint at Mi 6 like dual camera system on the rear, other reports claims that the Mi 5X may run on the latest Android Nougat operating system.
As per the specifications, Xiaomi Mi 5X may come with a 5.5-inch display and powered by Qulacomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the Xiaomi 5X is expected to come with dual cameras at the back and include a 5-megapixel sensor on the front. On the design front, the upcoming Xiaomi phone is expected to feature an all metal body that looks fairly premium.
From the pricing point of view, a previously leaked report hints that Xiaomi 5X could be a mid ranged smartphone and is likely to be priced at CNY 1,999, which is approximately Rs 19,000. However, another report hints that the upcoming Mi 5X could be much costlier than the Mi 5.
Some reports claims that the Mi 5X will also mark the debut of MIUI 9, Xiaomi’s next major iteration of Xiaomi’s mobile operating system.
